An achievement that marked the beginning of
Cellini Design's journey

___________

Being a self-taught designer greatly influenced by the grandmaster, Benvenuto Cellini, Tan created the initial series
of gold-plated cast coffee tables under the name Cellini. Operating from his modest factory on Chai Chee Street,
Tan melted metal alloys in crucibles and poured them into moulds he made by hand-carving wooden master patterns.
Each sculpture was meticulously crafted, ground, and polished. Tan’s gold-plated organic castings gained recognition
when he won the Bronze award at his exhibition at the Singapore International Furniture Fair.

Cellini Design has consistently focused on and excelled in cast aluminium furniture, which has become its
speciality and distinctive identity. The company has consciously avoided following trends such as zen, minimalist,
Scandinavian, or retro styles. Instead, Cellini's creations are known as the Cellini Signature, reflecting a unique
approach driven by passion and craftsmanship. Throughout its 38-year journey, this home-grown company has garnered
numerous accolades and design awards, further solidifying its industry excellence reputation. The Straits Times
Singapore awarded the latest Best Customer Service for the 2nd consecutive year in 2023.
